ABOUT this artwork:
The plastic world of Héctor Acevedo has been enriching slowly and safely. In his evolution there are no sudden changes or major surprises. There is like a line of continuity that is increasingly richer and more complex. Acevedo never repeats himself. He is an exile from his own consciousness, a fugitive from himself. The rough figures of the early times are now women painted with more exquisite strokes, while the blurred trees of their intermediate period have become small universes from which emerge houses, churches, windows, amorphous beings and scrutinizing eyes and windows. At times, dogs and birds reappear, although in the service of concepts more in line with the surrealism that he practices.
