Hector Acevedo
A la sombra de lo evidente
In the art of Héctor Acevedo, he shows us how the border between the figurative and the abstract is very thin. His compositional references to masters of Italian Renaissance art, especially Boticelli, are very evident, although the color tones that he uses all the time are bold, the colors achieve visual harmony. Figures with a sculptural or in any case imposing feature characterize his mixed media canvases where oil, a very ancient technique, is mixed with contemporary acrylic. The narrative will of the artist Acevedo stands out when it comes to the symbolic and colorful description he makes of it, the fear of leaving some spaces unfinished leads him to fill his works compositionally and coloristically with it.

My inspiration comes from different sources, they can be from sensations from everyday life, from dreams, from ancient mythology, from ancestral rites, from memories dormant in my memory and that emerge when faced with some external stimulus.
