The sun as we know it is but a small part of the infinite universe, and we are just a tiny part of its composition. "The Geometry of the Sun " is a symbolist painting made with acrylics on canvas by contemporary artist Felix Zilinskas that tries to represent how we complement each other with every being on the planet and how we are part of a whole.
The current state of the planet causes us much despair and confusion. We are disconnected from what is essential, causing us to think we are alone in this world. However, once we truly understand how life works, we realize how powerful a force we can become. In the geometry of the Sun, a human figure integrated with the Sun represents how every human being is unique and has his own independent identity, yet our shared humanity still connects us.
In my work, I seek to create what I call "pauses to think" in the audience. Through contemplation, I hope that people connect with emotions and thoughts they might not have expected. It goes beyond what you can find in the painting, it is about what the painting helps you find within yourself.
