I am Josep Pozo Catalan artist. I am 53 years old, and I live in a small town surrounded by volcanoes, called Olot and located in the north of Catalonia, Spain.
At the moment I am focused on the figure, my last works are about human figure, looking for characters that attract me or that bring me memories. I also work with rural and urban landscapes in my surroundings.
In my works I use different materials to make the collage, which I recycle myself, such as the paper and cardboard that you receive from the parcels, the coffee grounds once dry, the cardboard from the egg cartons, the cans of soft drinks, so I try to be more sustainable.
A characteristic of my characters is that they have no identity.
I am motivated by my interest in discovering new textures, I investigate with different materials to make collages in my works.
I identify myself as an expressionist artist, self-taught with the palette and rebellious.
In my works I use a mixed technique, on paper, canvas or wood.
My Personal Painting and Drawing Project
My personal project in the field of painting and drawing focuses mainly on the human figure and rural and urban landscapes. Currently, my work is oriented towards the exploration of the figure, focusing on characters that I find attractive or evoke significant memories. Through this pursuit, I attempt to capture not only the outward appearance of these individuals, but also their underlying stories and emotions.
In addition, I complement my study of the human figure with the depiction of landscapes. These landscapes, both rural and urban, are familiar and close to my everyday surroundings. Through them, I seek to reflect the essence and beauty of the places around me, whether they are quiet corners of the countryside or the dynamic scenes of the city.
This personal project is a reflection of my interests and experiences, a combination of observation of the world around me and the introspection of my own memory and emotions. The human figure and landscapes serve not only as subjects of my work, but also as vehicles to express my perception and connection to my environment and my personal memories.
I am constantly looking for the application of new recycled materials to bring life to the collage of my works.
Currently I also make NFTs of my works.
