CATHERINE LORTON
CAPS
"The general idea of a head is that we all have one, but none are alike. Each element in my representations of heads symbolizes that there are different feelings, emotions, structures, and perceptions. Through my artwork, I explore the diversity and uniqueness of the human experience, highlighting how each head is a unique universe of thoughts and sensations."
CATHERINE LORTON
Catherine Lorton, an abstract artist born in 1962 in France and residing in Barcelona since 1971. My work is inspired by the movements of surrealism and informalism, exploring the depth and complexity of the human experience through abstract forms and colors. I have created the concept of "Botonisme," an innovative artistic current that integrates elements of my main influences. Additionally, the theme of women holds a prominent place in my art, reflecting my concern and commitment to gender issues and the representation of women in contemporary art.
